AUCA Study Abroad Opportunity at Bard University

 

Fall 2012

 

The Bard College Program in International Education (PIE) is pleased to announce a new call for applications for one semester of study on Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York State.  PIE will bring together students from Bard's network of international partners (including AUCA, Smolny College, Al-Quds University, ECLA of Bard in Berlin, and University of Witwatersrand).

The program provides a Bard tuition waiver and students may apply for additional scholarships to cover costs.For its Fall 2012 semester, Bard College plans to bring two students from AUCA.

Students at Bard College register for sixteen credits per semester. Completing the deficit of two credits and meeting all other graduation requirements of the AUCA curriculum are the responsibility of the student. 

 

Eligibility/Criteria

The program is open to current sophomores majoring in the following nine academic programs:

  1. American Studies
  2. Anthropology
  3. Economics
  4. European Studies
  5. International and Comparative Politics
  6. Journalism and Mass Communications
  7. Psychology
  8. Sociology
  9. Software Engineering

 

Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to active civic engagement (i.e., involvement in community service, student clubs, student government, etc.).

 

How to apply

The application and scholarship forms should be submitted to Emir Kulov, Project Coordinator, AUCA-Bard College Partnership at kulov_em@mail.auca.kg, room 103 (both electronically and in hard copy, including two academic references in sealed envelopes and a scanned official transcript) by 5pm, April 30, 2012. Late applications will not be considered.

The final decisions will be made by Bard College.
