Registration Ask your question Program Objective: Acquisition of theoretical and practical skills in quantitative data analysis. This program provides an overview of the basic principles of using SPSS. Participants will learn the basic format of a database in SPSS, analysis of collected data and how to present the results of a study. The program will focus on various methods of analysis and interpretation of quantitative data.
Target group: This program is designed for students studying processing and analysis of quantitative data in social and marketing research. Expected results of the program: Students will develop skills necessary to • 1. understand how scientists collect and analyze quantitative data, • 2. understand the logic and the mathematical basis of various statistical procedures, • 3. analyze data that would help answer the main research question, • 4. use SPSS as a tool for data management and testing of hypotheses and • 5. make reliable conclusions. Issued documents: Certificate
Tuition fee: The structure of the program: Topic 1. Introduction to Statistics and SPSS for Windows Introduction to quantitative research, a review of basic concepts in statistics and capabilities of the software SPSS. Creating variables, input and edit data.
Subject 2. Tabulation and graphical presentation of empirical data Construction of frequency tables. Visualization, analysis and charting. Transforming data and files.
Theme 3. Measures of central tendency and distribution Determine and calculate mode, median, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, variance and standard deviation.
Theme 4. Building a cross-tabulation. Explore relationships between variables using Pearson's coefficient. The calculation of these indices using a statistical package.
Theme 5. Linear regression analysis Determination of linear and multimeric regressions. The calculation and interpretation of coefficients. Running examples with the help of a statistical package.
Topic 6. The method of testing a hypotheses. Determination of zero and alternative hypotheses, as well as statistical errors. Comparison of the average of one sample with a parameter that describes the entire set. Running examples with the help of a statistical package.
Theme 7. The method of testing hypotheses: for two dependent samples A comparison of two dependent samples. Running the examples with the help of a statistical package.
Theme 8. The method of testing hypotheses for two independent samples Comparison of mean for two independent samples. Running the examples with the help of a statistical package.
Topic 9. The method of testing hypotheses: Nonparametric methods for testing hypotheses. Running the examples with the help of a statistical package.
The methodology of the studies: Classes are held online in the computer labs
