Pastoral societies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (nomadism and socialism), transnationalism, migration Central Asia and Russia, anthropological theory and research methodology, sociological theory, anthropology of South-East Asia.

2010 – present International project: “Pastoral societies in turco-mongol space” (France, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Russia) supported by French National Center of Scientific Research. 2004 - 2007 - “Pastoral societies in transitional period” (Niger, Mali, Russia, Kyrgyzstan). supported by French National Center of Scientific Research.
