Prior to joining AUCA, Talant Sultanov has worked as the Vice President, Corporate Finance, at an investment bank in Bishkek. From 2006 to 2010 Talant was the Head of an Investment Projects Analysis Desk in Project Finance at Kazkommertsbank (KKB) in Almaty.
Before KKB, Talant worked at the World Bank: during 2005-06 at theWashington DC headquarters as a Consultant at the front-office of the Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, and at the Central Asia Regional Office in Almaty during 2003-2004 as a Communications Specialist.
Talant’s experience includes work as the Communications Director at the Education Network (2001-2003) in Almaty, a USAID/CARANA project on small and medium enterprise development in Central Asia, and as the Director of a joint project of the University of Michigan and the International University of Kyrgyzstan (2000-2001) in Bishkek. He started his career as a Scholarship Coordinator at the World Affairs Council in San Francisco (1998-2000).
Education Talant Sultanov holds a Master’s degree (2006) in International Finance from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and a Bachelor’s degree (1999, Summa Cum Laude) in International Relations from San Francisco State University (SFSU), where he graduated as the Top Student in the Program. He started his education at the International University of Kyrgyzstan in 1995.
