PROGRAM CHAIR | KYRGYZWHAT IS KYRGYZ?The Kyrgyz language is the state language of Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyz belongs to the Turkic group of languages. Having studied this language, it is possible to understand representatives of the vast population of speakers of the Turkic group of languages. Knowledge of Kyrgyz will enable students to get acquainted with the unique culture and creativity of the Kyrgyz people and to read the epos “Manas” in its original language.
ABOUT USEvery year the program conducts festivals, contests, debates, meetings with prominent people, competitions, discussions, workshops and training sessions for Kyrgyz language teachers.
Thanks to the knowledge of the Kyrgyz language received at AUCA, hundreds of foreigners successfully use this language in their work.
At AUCA the Kyrgyz language is one of the required disciplines. The Kyrgyz Language Program at AUCA operates in two directions: teaching the Kyrgyz language as a foreign language for people who do not possess the basics of this language; and teaching the Kyrgyz language for people who have insufficient proficiency in Kyrgyz for oral and written communication.
