Transfer students must submit an AUCA application (checklist below) and complete transcripts of all academic courses/credits completed at the other institution(s) to be considered as applicants.
Only courses with grades of C and higher (based on the letter grade system) or a 4 or higher (based on the CIS 5-point numerical grade system) will be considered for transfer. The grades earned in transferred courses will not be counted toward the student's GPA at AUCA.
Students with questions or issues relating to the specific program they wish to transfer into may directly contact the chair of the respective program. The maximum total of transfer credit within the students major cannot exceed 15 credits.
Transfer students may be awarded transfer credit at the discretion of the AUCA Registrar's Office. The Registrar’s Office will determine the amount of credit granted for transfer. To graduate from AUCA with a bachelor's degree a transfer student must earn at least 35 credits at AUCA.
NOTE: Students of “Zaochnyi” system courses and programs are ineligible for transfer to AUCA. Only students from traditional full-time or part-time university programs are eligible to transfer into AUCA programs.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
- Please state your reasons for applying to the chosen program of the American University of Central Asia, and how your studies at AUCA will contribute toward your life goals; also tell us what you feel most enthusiastic about and whether this has influenced your life in any way. Limit your statement of purpose to 700 words. Please attach your statement of purpose to this application.

Copy of high school diploma or vocational education certificate or if currently enrolled in high school, a document from current school certifying that an applicant is in the final year of study

(Note: Upon admission to AUCA, applicants who have graduated from educational institutions outside of Kyrgyz Republic must present a document confirming they have obtained the equivalent of the Kyrgyz Republic’s state diploma of secondary education, equivalent to 11 years of school (for bachelor’s degree program applicants) and of higher education (for graduate program applicants). Upon arrival to the university, the document issued by the foreign academic institution and its notarized Russian translation (including transcripts / marksheets) must be submitted to the Ministry for Education of the Kyrgyz Republic in order to confirm the level and content of study completed. The Ministry will issue a certificate recognizing the applicant’s education, which should be submitted to the Office of Admissions to be kept on file).
PASSPORT COPY AND PHOTOS
- Copy of passport information pages and for non-Kyrgyz citizens living in Kyrgyzstan, a copy of the Kyrgyz Republic visa page (international students must check in with the International Affairs Office within 2 days of arrival to submit copies of their Kyrgyz Visa and complete Ministry of Internal Affairs registration paperwork)4
- 4 color passport-style photographs (3 x 4 cm – white background)
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
- Medical certificate, confirming all vaccinations and immunizations as well as health screenings for Tuberculosis (for applicants from the CIS, the Medical certificate is known as the Form 086-Y)
COPY OF REPUBLIC TEST CERTIFICATE (KYRGYZ CITIZENS ONLY)

(Note: Submission of the Republic Test Certificate is optional. Submitting the certificate will not effect your admission decision, but for those applying for financial aid and scholarships, it is important to submit a copy of the Republic Test Certificate and/or Gold Medal to the Financial Aid Office)
COPY OF REPUBLIC AND INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD DIPLOMAS (KYRGYZ AND CIS CITIZENS ONLY)
- Any and all Republic and International Olympiad Diplomas on specific subjects (FOR KYRGYZ CITIZENS & CIS APPLICANTS ONLY)

CHANGING STATUS TO DEGREE SEEKING STUDENT
- If a visiting/exchange student decides to obtain a degree at AUCA he/she must re-apply as a degree seeking student and follow the standard conditions for admission as a full-time student as per the Admission Policy of the academic year in which he/she applies to the degree program. No more than 36 credit hours earned at AUCA as a visiting/exchange student may be counted toward a degree program at AUCA without grades. Only credits for courses with grades higher than “C” can be transferred. Credits earned at other universities can be transferred to AUCA as per the transfer policy.
