Аisalkyn Botoeva is a PhD student at the Sociology department of Brown University. Her academic interests broadly, are in private business and its interaction with the state in peripheral economies, social studies of finance and development. Currently, she is conducting her doctoral dissertation research on Islamic banks in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
