Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence in Anthropology welcomes applications from promising students of Anthropology, Technology and International Development Department at AUCA. The aim of this scholarship is to support students who show commitment to and excellence in anthropology. This year, the scholarship fund raised over $3000.

Anthropology Club Meeting: "Marriage ceremonies in Kazakhstan: Norms and their change"
Dinara Abildenova, a senior lecturer of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi gave a presentation "Marriage ceremonies in Kazakhstan: Norms and their change" on September 30, within the AUCA Anthropology Club meeting. In this presentation she focused on social changes that took place in Kazakh marriage ceremonies after the country’s independence.

Student Symposium of Social Sciences
On 15 October, 2016 Student Symposium of Social Sciences will be held in AUCA, CH at 9.30am. Students of Psychology, Anthropology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Sociology will present their summer internships reports at the first joint event of the Division of Social Sciences. Master students will have a separate panel "Application of Social Sciences Research and Practice to Social Change in Central Asia".
