Guest Lecture by Chingiz Aidarbekov on "Central Asia and Evolving Global Security Environment: Geopolitics, External Powers and Relations"
On March 27, AUCA, the Faculty of Anthropology and International Development, hosted another lecture in the NGO's and International Development class. The lecture featured Chyngyz Aidarbekov, a former Ministry of Foreign Affairs and currently Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Tian Shan Policy Center of AUCA and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Central Asia presented a study on migration and the Migration Yearbook 2023: Influence of the COVID-19 on formation of migration policy of countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation
The authors of the yearbook are experts: Leyla Delovarova (section on Kazakhstan), Tatiana Zlobina (section on Kyrgyzstan), Dmitry Poletaev (sections on Russia and Turkmenistan), Saodat Olimova (section on Tajikistan), Lyudmila Maksakova (section on Uzbekistan).

On March 8th, Sophia Siddiqi (fourth-year student of the Economics program) participated in the Women in Data Science Conference held at Stanford University. As a Women in Data Science Ambassador, Sophia had the chance to hear from esteemed women who work in companies such as Boeing, Apple, and Google.

  On March 6, AUCA, the Faculty of International and Comparative Politics, hosted another lecture as part of the Ambassador Talks series. The lecture featured Maksat Tentimishov, former director of the 4th Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the Fall 2023 semester, the International and Comparative Politics Department faculty members actively take part in professional activities to enrich their professional experience and knowledge, enlarge the network of professional activities and further collaborations with European and American institutions, and bring new opportunities for the AUCA students and faculty by providing a high level of quality in teaching and research in the fields of Political Science and International Relations.
