August 29, 2014

The Enactus Summer Camp was organized by the national office and Board of Directors of Enactus Kazakhstan with the support of the Committee on Youth Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Three students of AUCA and members of Enactus AUCA, Alina Kozhoeva, Timur Nazhimidinov, and Inna Tsoy visited the Enactus Summer Camp. They had the opportunity to attend lectures and workshops by famous successful entrepreneurs, senior managers, and business trainers of Kazakhstan, Chile, and Spain.

Students of AUCA met with more than 300 students from over 59 universities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and far abroad, namely the Netherlands and India, at the Enactus Summer Camp.

“The goal of the camp was to gather all members of Enactus worldwide in one place and share thoughts and ideas on entrepreneurship with each other. Enactus itself is a good start for the career of students. This is very exciting to meet students who have different majors. The camp was another useful way to communicate with students from various fields. Being a PR Manager in Enactus AUCA helps me to practice the knowledge that I gain during my education at AUCA”, said Alina Kozhoeva, junior student of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Timur Nazhimdinov is the Project Manager and Alina Kozhoeva is the PR Manager of Enactus AUCA. The knowledge and experience they are gaining at Enactus AUCA is another way of strengthening the way they are studying at AUCA within their majors.

“Enactus AUCA helped me to think differently and I became a more active student, both at AUCA and in Enactus. Through Enactus I learned about different companies and businesses. And I found an internship opportunity through Enactus as well. Taking part in this Summer Camp was also another chance to improve my professional skills”, said Timur Nazhimdinov, a senior student of Business Administration.

The trainings at Enactus Summer Camp were based on topics like, “Time management”, “How to build a successful career”, “Social Entrepreneurship”, “Experience Economy”, “Instrumental multimedia” and many others. The trainings included presentations, visual demonstrations and business games.

“I liked the trainings held by Jalil Zhukenov, who is the general manager of the hotel projects Oil Real Estate. The way he held the training was very different. We took part in business games, and worked in groups. It was really very exciting. Despite this, we had speakers from Chile and Spain. The trainings held by them were useful as well”, said Timur Nazhimdinov.

Members of the Enactus AUCA also had an opportunity to meet with well-known entrepreneurs of famous companies in Kazakhstan and abroad. “We were very lucky to attend trainings held by one of the world’s famous company KPMG, which is also the sponsor of Enactus. A whole day at the camp was dedicated to this company. As the trainings held by this company are very expensive, we appreciate it that we were able to attend them for free,” said Alina Kozhoeva.

The speakers at the Enactus Summer Camp were representatives from Insurance Company “London-Almaty ", KPMG Company, “Prosto Kredit Evraziiskogo Banka”, construction/management company Oil Real Estate, and company “Ekoloko pro”, all of whom took part in the training session entitled “Experience Economy”.

Timur Nazhimidinov joined Enactus AUCA during his sophomore year and is going to be a part of Enactus AUCA in the future as well. “I was not interested in Enactus before, as I thought this is just a waste of time. And when my classmate told me about a project they were working on, I got interested and decided to join Enactus. Today, I am happy that I work in Enactus, as it helps to develop leadership skills as well as working skills. We work with real projects and real people. We help change the lives of people who are in need”, Timur said.

Alina has many years of experience working at Enactus. She learned English for two years; she was accepted to AUCA and became a member of Enactus AUCA.  “Enactus AUCA is a separate school of life and is a good way of improving networking. The members of the Enactus AUCA have the opportunity to take part in various competitions, namely national competitions, and of course in the World Cup which will be held in China this year and next year is planned to be held in Emirates”, Alina added.

The slogan of Enactus is “Don’t give a man a fish, but teach him how to fish”. Members of Enactus AUCA teach people and give them opportunities to learn and work, so that they could support themselves for their whole life.

Many active members of Enactus AUCA, namely Anatoliy Fyodorenko, Eldana Esenalieva, Begayim Muratbekova, Evgeniya Tsoy, Jamilya Almazbekova, Aidan Kadyr, Nazgulya Shayakhmetova, and Adilet Kairbek have graduated AUCA this year and now Enactus AUCA is planning the recruitment of new members into their team.
