AUCA awarded its Talents for their victory in a Chess contest

Chess – became one of the famous sport classes at AUCA and students always enjoy learning and playing it. We have very good success and improvement on chess.  Last year, AUCA chess teams participated in the Republican Universiada and male team won 2nd place and female team 3rd place. Consequently, our chess teams continued to develop students’ skills on chess and had performed with great success in this year Republican Universiada.

Republican Universiada organized by the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic and Republic Center Zhashtyk on chess took place at Kyrgyz State Technical University on March 11-14, 2015. Students from 15 universities participated in this chess game. Following students presented AUCA chess teams: male team Talapker Bekbasarov (leader), Yane Sumkoski, Arun Akmataliev, female team Medina Zhumashova, Kanykei Chotkaraeva and coach was Daniyar Karabaev.

Our students played with confidence, showed their talents and male team won 1st place and female team 2nd place. Overall results of the Second League were following:

Male:

  1. American University of Central Asia
  2. Osh State Juridical Institute
  3. Academy of Management under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic

Female:

  1. International Ataturk-Alatoo University
  2. American University of Central Asia
  3. Issyk-Kul State University.

Today, during the regular Friday chess class the winners were awarded with valuable and special gifts (chessboards, chess books, chess disks and etc.) organized by General Education Department. Our chess instructors Daniyar Karabaev, Talaibek Imanaliev and Valeri Hardin will continue to teach and develop students’ skills on chess and will participate in the First League in the next Universiada.
