Model United Nations Opportunity for High School Students

May 19, 2016

The American University of Central Asia’s (AUCA) Student Senate, in collaboration with Bard College, is organizing the first Model United Nations (MUN) conference for Bishkek high school students. The conference will take place on June 2, 2016.

AUCA’s 2016 MUN Organizing committee is encouraging all high school students in Bishkek to apply and participate in the upcoming MUN conference. MUN is a great opportunity for high school students to become aware of and engage with relevant international geopolitical issues, while simultaneously developing their critical thinking, public speaking, leadership skills, and self-confidence. The program will have three committees, two of which will be in English and one in Russian.
The MUN conference for high school students will be held on June 2, 2016 at the new campus of the American University of Central Asia. Transportation, lunch, and coffee will be provided for everyone participating.

All interested high school students can apply for AUCA MUN 2016 via the link provided below:

Students then work on pressing issues of the day, requiring them to engage with the political, social, economic and environmental concerns of the world. In addition, Model UN exposes students to international relations and dramatically increases their competency in problem solving, conflict resolution, research, and communication, all through the diplomatic processes used by the UN.
