AUCA’s becomes member of SAP University Alliance, gains access to wealth of SAP resources

November 25, 2016

On November 23, 2016 the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) held a signing ceremony for the University’s official induction into the SAP University Alliance. AUCA President Andrew Wachtel and SAP SE company director for Russia and CIS countries Igor Belousov signed a memorandum of agreement at the event.

“We started this process a long time ago to start working with SAP. It is an incredible opportunity for AUCA to be a part of this alliance. I think the fact that a lot of students are here is a sign that people realize—students realize—learning to use SAP is something that will make a difference for them in terms of their careers. I hope students will take advantage of the courses that we will be able to offer as result of being a partner with the SAP University Alliance,” said president Wachtel. Afterwards he thanked the AUCA specialists and faculty staff, who have made a contribution to this partnership.

Being a member of the SAP University Alliance gives AUCA access to a wealth of resources developed in collaboration with faculty, students, and SAP partners and customers around the world. AUCA Faculty and Student can attend SAP events, conferences, and seminars; get free software licenses for education and research purposes; expand their portfolio of professional development offerings to include SAP Certification. AUCA will be able to produce highly qualified graduates with critical skills for the 21st century workforce. Faculty will have the access to material for teaching as well as to the SAP Enterprise Platform resource. Moreover, students have the opportunity to work in the SAP environment, which will provide them with skills that are in very high demand all over the world. It increases their marketability in the job market given the demand for these specific knowledge and skill sets. AUCA students will be able to leverage SAP solutions and their own innovative thinking to develop creative market solutions for businesses.

“The American University of Central Asia is a unique member for University Alliance. It will be the first Kyrgyz University to join the alliance. It is also the only university already using SAP without being a member of University Alliance. Staff and professors already know SPA, so it will be simple to start,” - noted Igor Belousov in his welcoming speech.

The membership ceremony also included a presentation by Belousov about digital transformation, SAP’s key activities, products and partners. SAP gives solutions and provides software for many famous companies like Apple, BMW, Harley Davidson and the German Hockey League. The presentation went more in depth about how SAP helps the German national football team prepare for matches, underscoring that SAP builds systems and applications not only for business, higher education and production companies, but also for sports, transportation, medicine and for many other spheres.
