AUCA Master students spending their semester in Germany: How the Erasmus exchange program changed our life

AUCA students from Master of Arts in Sociology Iuliia Dorofeeva, Aikanysh Imanova and Bolotbek kyzy Gulzada are continuing their study at Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg, Germany.

Have you ever dreamed about visit a marvelous country of Germany, learn German language and get to travel around Europe? Thanks to Erasmus + exchange program for Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) dreams become true! Starting from September of 2017, three students from AUCA Master of Arts in Sociology program are studying on exchange semester in the Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg.

The Otto von Guericke University, founded in 1993 and is one of the youngest German universities with more than 14 thousand students, situated in Magdeburg, the capital of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The Erasmus + grant and American University of Central Asia program offers a scholarship covering all travel expenses, provides accommodation in a dormitory, free German language course and up to 30 ECTS credit courses taught in English. Peace and Conflict Studies is a newly offered program that gives a broad both theoretical and practical understanding of peace and conflict situation in International Politics.

Aikanysh: "Erasmus is the opportunity to do and see things you could never dreamed of. It opened new parts of my character that I never knew about myself. We’ve been in Germany for a few months, and the time is completely flying by. We are discovering new places, meeting beautiful people from other countries and learning German”.

Gulzada: "An Exchange is a lifetime experience, never to be forgotten. Peace and Conflict studies enhanced my interest in global conflict issues as well as a broader general knowledge”.

Iuliia:Erasmus program for Peace and Conflict in Germany can help you better understand yourself and the world around you. To me personally studying abroad tested my student's real-world application of cultural knowledge and language. The foremost was to experience the German university culture and to open new horizons”.
