Congratulations to AUCA Law Division students with the 4th place at the Eurasian Economic Union Moot Court Competition held in Moscow

December 18, 2019

AUCA Law students Aliia Abaskanova (senior, LLB), Begaiym Seiitbekova (junior, LLB), Anastasia Rukavichnikova (LLM) and Asylbek Kochkorov (LLM) placed 4th at the Dispute Settlement in Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Moot Court Competition held in Moscow, Russia, on November 28 - December 1, 2019.

The AUCA team was the only team from Kyrgyzstan to reach the competition's oral rounds based on the written assignments (statement of claim and objection) under the guidance of the team's coaches, Hannepes Taychaev and Sultan Khalilov, AUCA Law Division instructors.

During the competition's oral rounds the AUCA team was successful and demonstrated an excellent level of public speaking and legal skills, as well as knowledge of Public and Private International Law, Civil Law as well as regulatory framework of the EAEU Law.

The EAEU Moot Court is the third annual international moot court competition held by the Department of International Law of the Russian State University of Justice, together with the International and Comparative Law Research Center (supported by the Russian Arbitration Center under the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration).

The moot court competition is a unique educational platform that allows future legal experts to study dispute resolution models within the EAEU.

The purpose of this competition is to form a new generation of highly qualified specialists in the field of international law in the EAEU countries, able to represent the interests of both states and participants of their country’s business communities in international jurisdictional bodies.
