Folk music and dances of the Kyrgyz

On March 1, at the AUCA a spectacular event was held dedicated to the presentation of the project “Folk music and dances of the Kyrgyz”. The author and director of the project is ethnochoreologist and ethnomusicologist, AUCA graduate, Excellence in Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, expert on cultural issues at the Council of Migration and Diasporas Abroad under the Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh - Mariya Naumova, known under the stage name “Mariya Naumova - Orchestra Girl”.

 

The official part of the event was opened by a welcoming speech: “The main goal of the project is to preserve the intangible heritage of the Kyrgyz people in the field of folk music and choreography in the modern world, as well as presentation at the international level. 8 video series (1.5 hours) were created, which were based on the research of archival audio and video
materials, memoirs of travelers of the 18th-20th centuries. Watching is not limited by age; the presentation of the material in Kyrgyz language with subtitles in Russian and English makes the material informationally accessible and is not a barrier to the desire to study and get acquainted with the unique historical data about Kyrgyz music and choreography.”

 

The event was attended by many guests, including representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the People's Assembly of Kyrgyzstan, the Embassy of Hungary, “Salbuurun”, the directorate of specialized choreographic and music educational institutions, famous figures in the field of music and choreography, as well as teachers and local and foreign students. The author prepared interesting presentation, which combined watching of unique series about the history of melodies and dances based on archives with performances “today”; thus, the line of development through the centuries was noticeable... Modern performers showed on stage the beauty of Kyrgyz culture today in the field of music and choreography. The folk choreographic ensemble "Ak-Niet" under the direction of Aiyn Akybayeva, as well as Esengazy uluu Nurbek presented beautiful and mesmerizing choreographic compositions, and musicians Azat Bazarbekov, Asykbekov Kylymdar and Mariya Naumova presented live playing on komuz, temir komuz, choor... The symbiosis of presentations and live performances allowed the audience to understand the depth of Kyrgyz melodies and dances, because behind each performance there is a whole story - the history of the Kyrgyz people

 

The event dedicated to Kyrgyz culture held at AUCA had a great success! Everyone was able to get acquainted, penetrate and immerse themselves in the beauty and brightness of Kyrgyz traditions!
