Air Quality Awareness Project

The AUCA Business School is dedicated to making a difference in our communities by addressing issues like climate change and ecology through civic engagement!

We’re excited to share the highlights of our recent Air Quality Awareness Project held at school #91 in the smog-affected Kara Jygach residential area of Bishkek.

The project was designed and led by Bermet Talasbek kyzy, Strategic Development Officer of AUCA Business School, alongside our enthusiastic team of AUCA students - Aidai Bakchekova, Pune Bayasova, and Rasul Matisakov.

Our aim? To spark conversations between children and their parents about the impact of coal burning on air quality and promote the use of efficient insulation materials for home heating.

Tailored for 30 8th-grade students in Kara Jygach, our project also involved engaging their physics, chemistry, and biology teachers to bridge classroom learning with real-world application.

Over two days, we organized various engaging activities, including presentations, quizzes, a video content contest, and hands-on house modeling using insulation materials like polystyrene and mineral wool.
