Maya Planet: The world against drug abuse

On March 12, 2013 in the Concert Hall of the American University in Central Asia the international exhibition-report «Maya Planet: The world against drugs" was held.

 

The organizer of such event was the Director of Development of the World League Natalia Subbotina. The deputy of Parliament and member of the Foreign Affairs Committee Tursunbai Bakir Uulu, president of the Progressive Initiatives Fund Askar Salymbekov, colonel Beishekeev Nurlan Asanakunovich from the Office of Drug Control and Drug Licensing came to support this event. Also, there was the president, initiator and founder of the League, the world-renowned psychiatrist and the expert of narcology - professor Jenishbek Nazaraliev.

 

The event is held by the World League "Mind without the drug" together with the State Service on Drug Control under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Progressive Initiatives Fund. The exhibition named «Maya Planet: World against drug abuse" is being demonstrated at leading universities and secondary educational institutions in Bishkek, starting from 5th of March. After April 5th the exhibition will move out of the capital of Kyrgyzstan to the second largest city of the Republic - Osh. The main purpose of the exhibition is to prevent drug use among young people and the realization of the mission of the World League for formation in the society perceived immunity to drugs within the 50-year program of the organization.

 

The decision to present the exhibition in Kyrgyzstan has been made by the organizers on the basis of the fact that the country is situated in the heart of Central Asia, along the ancient trade routes connecting Europe and Asia. However, in addition to trade, on the territory of Kyrgyzstan the drug trafficking of the "Golden Crescent" countries - Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran pass. Later, «Maya Planet: The world against drug abuse" exhibition will be shown in other countries of the region - Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Furthermore, it will continue its way in major cities of Europe, Middle East, Australia, the United States, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
