FAQ: Projects Funding

How can I apply for funding?

If you already have a project idea, fill out the project description, budget, and Program (if needed) templates, and send documents to sidp@auca.kg. If you do not have any ideas yet, but really want to implement a project, contact us and get an individual consultation.

Where can I get information about the project application deadlines?

The applications are considered on a year-round basis.

What are the criteria of the SIDP advisory commission when approving the project budgets?

The advisory commission evaluates the project’s general idea, the problem it aims to solve, and its budget. The preference is given to projects of students of non-graduating class (i.e., freshmen, sophomores, juniors) with the most justified and effective budgets. It is also an advantage if the expenses of the submitted projects are partially covered by its partners or the local community’s contribution.

How long does it take the advisory commission members to make a decision?

It takes them 5 days to decide. Even though the decision-making period is not very long, be aware that it is the money transfer that takes much longer, so plan accordingly with submitting your project package and setting the project time frame.

What are the next steps in case my project is approved?

First, you have to receive the funding. Second, you have to start implementing your project.

How long does it take to receive the funding if my project was approved?

The process might take up to 2 weeks.

What is the process of receiving the funding if my project was approved?

To provide funding, the Program coordinator has to fill out the financial form and submit it to the AUCA financial office. Depending on the types of expenses your project has, you might have to provide documents, which are necessary to attach to this financial form. Therefore, plan in advance and apply early on so that you have funding when you need it.

I am an international student, can I get funding to implement a project in my home country?

Yes, you can. You should indicate your home country and city in the application.

Do I need to collect any documents when I spend money on something?

When you are about to buy something, it is your responsibility to make sure that all the valid financial documentation will be provided by the seller to you. It is a MUST to collect and keep all the financial documents when you are spending money on your project.

What if the seller does not provide any documents? What should I do?

Learn if the seller can provide you with valid documents BEFORE buying anything. If the seller cannot, buy what is needed from another seller.

What is the maximum amount I can apply for?
